17th of May

May 17th is Norway’s National Day, also known as Constitution Day. It marks the signing of the Norwegian Constitution in 1814, which laid the foundation for Norway as an independent nation.

The day is celebrated with parades, music, and the display of Norwegian flags. Children play a central role in the festivities, and many people wear traditional clothing called bunad.
